PRECIOUS PEREZ

LEAD VOCALS

Precious Perez, also known as “the blind reggaetonera” is a new artist with American and Latin roots. Born in Boston to a Puerto Rican family and currently a resident of Kentucky, Precious is entering her new musical era after graduating with a double major in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music. Her musical path from an early age has been accompanied by great influences in Latin music, which gave birth to her purpose: “To be the first blind reggaetonera in the Latin music industry, breaking the mold.” Her story and music have led her to be featured in spaces like grammy.com and Telemundo. Precious actively works to make space for music professionals with disabilities, serving as President of Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD).

In addition to her back catalog, Precious released three singles including “Sin Preguntar” under the global record label, We Could Be Music. With a fusion of reggaeton and salsa that deeply connects her with her roots and enjoyment of life, this music presents   her new musical era, which debuted at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Precious also has a book detailing her journey in disability and music published through Norton Young Readers titled Vision: My Story of Strength.

KAREN MILLER

BASS GUITAR

Karen has a love and passion for music which started at the age of 9, playing clarinet in school bands and ensembles from 3rd-12th grade. Karen has been playing out live in local cover and original bands, as lead guitarist, for the last sixteen years. Her previous band, Julius, released their first E.P. in August 2018 and played out regularly in Louisville. She began on bass guitar in 2023 in support of Sight Unseen, and has since developed a local reputation as our resident Funk Goddess.

When not jamming with Sight Unseen, Karen works as a Band Instructor and Education Director at Mom's Music, Louisville's preeminent music store.

She is especially passionate about helping young children develop their musical potential, both as an individual performer and as part of a band.  Karen has been instrumental in organizing numerous band camps, including serving as coach for "Ladies Rock", an extension of "Girls Rock Louisville."

DAVID RAMIREZ

LEAD GUITAR

David has been destined for glory on the stage ever since he saw his first concert, Kiss with opening act AC/DC, which changed his life forever.

Our resident "Chaperone of Tone," David has been playing on stages in Louisville for over 30 years in a wide variety of bands.  A self-professed metal head, he has enjoyed the chance to stretch his musical chops in the world of pop and dance-oriented music.

David does have a day job, but that mostly entails thinking about guitars, posting about guitars, and wishing he was playing one.

MARK COPELAND

DRUMS AND VOCALS

Mark has been pounding the drums since he was a teenager, and has played with a number of bands on the Louisville scene.

He is also an accomplished singer, who provides backing vocals and harmonies on a number of Sight Unseen tunes.  We also get him to step forward and sing lead on a number of covers from artists such as Prince, Neon Trees and The Killers.

Mark also performs with Mad Alice, a group of accomplished Louisville musicians who specialize in putting their own spin on classic rock and metal favorites.

SCOTT POLLARD

KEYBOARDS

Scott has been a lifelong music fan. He and his family moved to Louisville in 2021. He is predominantly self-taught on keyboards and joined Sight Unseen in spring of 2023 after a tragically long hiatus away from music and the live stage.  His last band was the Rocket Pockets, a Chicago band comprised of MBA students at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. While piano and keyboards are his primary focus these days, Scott also plays guitar and ukulele.
